BlackBerry Traffic updated to v3.0.1.21

Posted by on Jan 24, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

We heard a couple of weeks ago to expect an update to BlackBerry Traffic, and it looks like it’s finally available to download in BlackBerry App World. It seems this version is only for bug fixes, as no new additions were listed in the change log.

These bug fixes include:

  • Fixed a bug where guidance stops
  • Fixed a bug with BlackBerry Calendar integration
  • Fixed a bug where Bluetooth doesn’t disengage when audio is muted on the app

If you’re not already using BlackBerry Traffic, now is as good a time as any to start. The app is free and a great way to navigate on the go without the need for an expensive GPS. You can find more information and download it at the link below.

Thorsten Heins takes over as President and CEO of Research In Motion

Thorsten Heins has taken over as President and CEO of Research In Motion. With Jim Balsille and Mike Lazaridis stepping down, Heins has big shoes to fill and will no doubt need to prove himself right from the start. RIM has already posted quite a few video spots talking on the current state and future of the company, and Mr. Heins has even dropped a phone call to Kevin for a quick chat (which is pretty amazing). In case you missed all the news, follow the links below to learn more about this change-up:

UberSocial for BlackBerry v1.304 now available for download

If you use Twitter on your BlackBerry, chances are you have heard of, tried, or currently use UberSocial. This popular app has just been updated to v1.304, fixing a bug in the character count on the compose screen while also giving this screen a simpler, roomier look. They have also completely re-written the Facebook OAuth logic, resolving the issue with the Facebook web page not rendering correctly on the built-in browser widget and the in-ability to login if you setup your Facebook security to require the naming of a new device login.

All in all it sounds like a worthwhile update so you’ll want to make sure you get it when you have a chance. You can grab the update, or if you’re not a current UberSocial user you can become one, at the link below.
